Jamia Simone Nash was born on August 21st 1996 in Virginia Beach
Va. but currently resides in Georgia. She first started singing when she was just 2 years old. At that age, she was able to
control her voice and started making drum sounds with lotion bottles and toys.
She was first discovered when she was
just 6 years old, after winning the Apollo Kids Talent Search Competition at Atlanta's Gwinnett Place Mall where she sang
the Alicia Keys song, "Fallin". Since then, Jamia has become a proven performer who has shared the stage with many big name
artists. Jamia's career is managed by her parents, Charlene and James Nash and the Legendary Suzanne DePasse.
Since
appearing on 'Showtime at the Apollo' in 2002 Jamia has appeared on the show 2 other times. She has also appeared on BETs
Celebration of Gospel, Jay Leno, The Maury Show twice and a host of other shows. She has now moved in to acting and will make
her feature film debut in the movie "August Rush". She will also appear in the Lifetime movie "Life Is Not A Fairytale : The
Fantasia Barrino Story" as Young Fantasia.
When Jamia's not working she's just being a kid. She enjoys reading and
playing with her younger sister Olivia. Olivia is also into singing, both girls were featured on the Talib Kweli song "Black
Girl Pain" from his 2004 album 'The Beautiful Struggle'.
